Religion of the baby

Salam

I have 2 very good friends who are very confused with what to do, my friend is a non-muslim guy and he has a muslim girlfiend, who is pregnant... they are planning to get married and he is going convert to Islam. I need some advice for them, basically they don't know what religion the baby will be. I need practical advice for them please not for people to judge them, please.
