question Salam, A non-muslim friend recently asked me the following question, I was hoping some one could give me a proper answer. The question was: Muslims say all babies are born pure and without sin, but was it not Adam (PBUH) who committed a sin (i.e. apple etc) and therefore all people born after that have to ask for forgiveness/are liable to commit sins because of Adam's PBUH mistake? Is this not similar to the concept of Original Sin? I am not saying that babies are born with sins but that was it not for Prophet Adam's mistake, we wouldn't be in this position and would instead be in heaven. How would I explain to a Christian that Islam does not believe in the concept of original sin? I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to Islam and was hoping some one could please either answer this properly or perhaps direct me to a site where a question such as this has been address. I would really appreciate it. Thank you. Wasalam.
